Era is this atlas's own spine: seven period bands, Prehistory and the Ancient World through The Contemporary World, that every dated event and historical figure in this atlas is placed within somewhere. Grouping by era lets a reader move through the past the way a historian narrates it, one span of time at a time, rather than hunting a single figure or state out of context. This band does not carry a polity's own form of government, which sits under Civilizations and Polities, or the documents a polity produced, which sit under Historical Documents; era answers when a thing belongs, not what kind of thing it is.

View At A Past Year

The atlas records no dated fact of its own for this entry, so there is no other year to choose.
