Belongs here: authors, poets, composers and painters or sculptors whose work itself is the reason for their historical record. Does not belong here: religious poet-mystics whose work is primarily devotional and whose historical role is chiefly spiritual, grouped under Religious and Spiritual Leaders, or scholarly writers whose work is primarily philosophical or historical rather than literary or artistic, grouped under Philosophers and Scholars.
