Nefertiti

Nefertiti (c. 1370-c. 1330 BCE) was a queen of Egypt's 18th Dynasty and the Great Royal Wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten. Alongside her husband, she was central to a radical transformation of Egyptian state religion, promoting the worship of the sun disc Aten in a form bordering on monotheism and displacing the traditional priesthood of Amun. She is depicted prominently in the art and monuments of the period at what was arguably the wealthiest era of ancient Egypt, and her painted limestone bust, discovered at Amarna in 1912, is among the most recognizable images to survive from the ancient world. Her ultimate fate after Akhenaten's reign remains uncertain and much debated by Egyptologists.
